Father's Day.... Poor Ole' Dad

Poor little dads...... we are always out of school on Father's Day so we wanted to do something special just  for them before we get out of school.  I LOVE anything with handprints.  Let me know what you think.  So simple or way cute.
AGAIN....... GGGGRRRRRRRR..... The picture would not turn.

My favorite labeling project this year.  Look at the column on the left, the 2nd one down.... eats beef jerky.  LOVE THAT!!

Dad's favorite thing to eat is cereal and his favorite thing to cook is a Puk Shop (pork chop)

Parent's Day Program

Well, we did it.  Although it was absolutely precious, it surely does take A LOT of work!!  The first pictures are of the program and the remainder are from the reception.
We were getting ready to get started.  The children began the program with singing, "It's a Beautiful Day" by Greg and Steve.  Then they recited a poem.  Finally, the children sang, "What a wonderful World' and each child held up pictures that displayed words in the song.  It was the sweetest thing.... many, many, tear filled eyes.

Trees of green and red roses too.

The Bright bless-ed day, dark sacred night

The Colors of the Rainbow, So pretty in the Sky,

Are also on the faces, of people going by
Friends shaking hands, saying how do you do, They're really saying, "I Love You"

(My favorite pics) I hear babies cry, I watch them grow

And I think to myself, What a Wonderful World
They all held up their pics at the end of the song.   SSSSSSOOOOOOOO sweet!! and very age appropriate!!

ONTO THE RECEPTION
We held the reception in the lunchroom and I am posting pics of  ALL the parents that showed up.  IT WAS PACKED!!

A BIG BIG BIG thank you to all of our helpers who cleaned, served, and held down the fort for all of us K teachers while we got to mingle with the parents.  It was great!!!!!!

BESTEST K TEACHERS EVER!!

Parent's Day Program

We are getting ready for our end of the year program.  Usually, we have a day for moms and a day for dads.  This year, we cut the stress in half and decided to just to one day which included both parents/guardians.  We are going to perform two songs and a poem (I will share that in a later post once the program is complete) and then we are headed to a reception where the parents will receive a few goodies.  My favorite is the Kindergarten Cookbook. I love a memory book but this is my favorite.  Here's how we make this: We brainstorm our favorite things that our moms/dads cook.  Then I call them up one at a time and they call the receipe out to me.  I try to ask as few questions as I can.  I am posting my favorite three receipes.  I copy them and their parents will take home a copy of 18 new things to cook.
SSSSOOOOOOO sorry...... tried and tried to turn the pics and they WOULD NOT cooperate!!  GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

How easy is this??  A gigantic puzzle piece with a magnet on the back.  The kids color it and we glued down their photo.

I will post more pics after our program on Friday.  We have practiced and practiced and I am sure that it is going to turn out very cute.  We only have 6 more days........ Yippeeeeeeee!!!!!

Queen Mother

I just HAD to post this picture.  My boys were not all that thrilled with taking this picture.  However, the little one just wanted a trip to Chic Fil A so he was "all in" when he found out that if cooperated, I could make that trip happen.  My three boys are my life.  My oldest is my life, the middle one is my heart, and the little one is my joy!!  As most moms say, if you have more than one child, they each are very different.  God has blessed me with much love!  In the book of James (one of my favorite scriptures) says," Every good and perfect gift comes from above"  How true it is!! I hope that all of you had a blessed, wonderful Mother's Day.

Water Animals/Ocean and Pond

Because it has been a while since my last blog post,  I thought the bestest thing to do is to combine ocean and pond life into one large post.
Ducks and Frogs and Beavers ... Oh My!!
The first things that we did was web pond animals after we looked at our tub of pond animal books.

We read a book from our reading series called "Building Beavers" then we made a beaver out of paper plates and added a fact web.  This example came from Mrs. Robinson's Classroom :)

This also came from Mrs. Robinson's Class

As I always say... I try very hard to give credit when I go web searching for things that I can use in my classroom but I saw this in SEVERAL places.  Whoever came up with this idea.... Kudos to your creative self!!

Frog Clip Art

Ocean Crabs

SHARKS
We read Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark (One of my personal favorites) I am showing my friend's graphic oraganizer from Ms. Barrentine's class.
Then we made individual sharks along with a fact graph.

Sharks are dangerous.  Sharks have sharp teeth.  They like to bite.  They can smell blood.
